LaRombé BIO
The musical journey for this Grammy honored Singer-Songwriter-Producer has taken him from his hometown of Philadelphia, the "City Of Brotherly Love" to L.A,” The City of Angels”. His first taste of show biz came as lead singer with a popular Philly area group called The Superbs.
After the group disbanded he came formed an association with The Del-Fonics band who were ready to branch out on their own and needed a lead singer The plan was for everyone to relocate to Los Angeles within a year.
While heading west, He made a stop in Akron Ohio where he found himself behind a different kind of mike as DJ on a number one radio show at WAUP.FM. Despite the success, the passion to "make" and not just "play" music kept him movin westward to L.A. but things never quite came together for the new group even after securing a record deal. After that he put together his first original group, “Taste Of Paradise” which featured his blossoming songwriting skills which came to the attention of Motown producers Frank Wilson and Leonard Caston.(Keep On Truckin) who recorded his first record with soul group New Birth. Next came a production deal which teamed him up with legendary songwriter Diane Warren, who remains a strong supporter. That lead to a record deal with the amazing Curtis Mayfields Curtom label. Songs from that project like "Youre The Best" and “Its All In Your Mind” are in great demand with R&B collectors around the world. Next came the forming of his own production/publishing company-- Lovelyte Musique which has solo, film & TV credits, most notably his 2 solo releases Cozmic Soul and the 2010 album Philafornia Soul…”from the City of Brotherly Love to the City of Angels” . Altho he has worked with some of the best in the biz, his main focus has been in developing new artist. LaRombé garnered Grammy honors for a collaboration with multi Grammy Award winner Keb Mo, entitled "Closer" which appeared on his “KEEP IT SIMPLE’ album which won the 2004 Grammy Award for best Contemporary Blues Album. He also performs with Mr Mo and can be seen with his solo act around the L.A. area. Along with his singing, songwriting and production skills, he does creative consulting and is R&B coordinator for
